A Magical Week in Cyprus with the Museum of the Moon

Under the auspices of Once in a Blue Moon and Wonderdots, this installation is a centerpiece of the Larnaca Biennale 2023. The artwork, a stunning seven-meter diameter sphere, features intricately detailed NASA imagery of the moon’s surface. Every centimeter represents 5 km of the lunar landscape, illuminated from within to create a breathtaking spectacle. Accompanying this visual marvel is a surround sound composition by the acclaimed Dan Jones, adding an auditory layer to the immersive experience.

Since its inception in 2016, the Museum of the Moon has captivated audiences worldwide, each time accompanied by a unique array of lunar-inspired events. Larnaca's iteration will be no different, offering a curated program of events and performances, fostering new perspectives on the moon and providing insights into the latest lunar science.

The week-long event includes:

  • November 13: Opening night with a performance by Nama Dama, a Nicosia-based artist known for her fusion of folk and electronic music.
  • November 14, 15 & 17: Open for public visits.
