Farewell to Tina Turner, Queen of Rock and Roll

Deserving the Queen of Rock'n Roll title, Tina Turner succumbed to her struggle with cancer and kidney failure on May 24 at her home in Switzerland at 83. The American singer left behind a life story full of success and a profound loss in the hearts of her loved ones.

The singer, who started her music career with the group Ike & Tina Turner, which she founded with her husband Ike Turner, managed to continue her solo career for 30 years. Turner, whose albums have sold over 180 million copies, has 8 Grammy Awards in her successful history in the music market. Turner, who had her name written in golden letters, was especially popular with songs such as I Don't Want to Lose You, We Don't Need Another Hero, The Best, Private Dancer, Better Be Good To Me, Proud Mary, and What's Love Got to Do With. Turner also inspired artists such as Rihanna, Beyonce and Janet Jackson to come and influence their understanding of music.

 
 
 

Tina Turner won the respect of her fans not only with her music, which succeeded in captivating the masses but also with her autobiography, which she published in 1985, describing her difficult teenage years and family life. Then, Tina Turner's movie, inspired by this autobiography and named after Turner's most famous song, "What's Love Got to Do With It", was released in 1993. 

 
 
 

Tina Turner will undoubtedly always make a name for herself with her songs, stage performances and unique personality, making her such a beloved woman to the masses.
