Oscars 2023: Everything We Know About So Far
The 95th Academy Awards Ceremony will take place on 12 March at the Dolby Theater at the Hollywood & Highland Center. It is worth mentioning the site was renamed Ovation Hollywood, but it is still the same place and the home of the awards ceremony since 2002.
Who will host the 2023 Oscars?
After three years without a host, Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes will be co-hosts on the year's one of the exciting event. Besides, Jimmy Kimmel will also return as a host for the 95th Oscars despite the unfortunate confusion at the ceremony in 2017. While reminding the events of the past ceremony with humorous language, Kimmel expressed that he is aware of his responsibility for this duty with the following words in a statement:
Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honour or a trap… Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no.
Who will perform?
Rihanna, who manages to attract the masses again with her breathtaking performance in the Super Bowl halftime show, will perform at the Oscars. While Rihanna received a nomination in the Best Original Song category for "Lift Me" from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fellow nominees possibly joined her on the stage. Although there is no official announcement yet, we strongly feel that Lady Gaga, with her nomination ''Hold My Hand" from Top Gun: Maverick can come together with Rihanna.
What about the ceremony?
Despite the need for more information about the format or the order of play of the ceremony during the night, we know that this year all 23 categories will be presented on the live telecast, unlike in 2022. As Bill Kramer's confirmation, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also stated the importance of the preparations for the ceremony and his expectations about the night:
"We are committed to having a show that celebrates the artisans, the arts and sciences and the collaborative nature of moviemaking. This is very much what the mission of the Academy is, and I am hopeful that we can do a show that celebrates all components of moviemaking entertainingly and engagingly.
Even though Kramer did not babble out any more information about the ceremony coming, he also did not neglect the speciality of this same year and concluded:
"All I will say right now is that our anniversary, the 95th Oscars, is significant to us," he said. "I think it sets a fascinating rhythm for our 100th. You see this in the museum. We can celebrate our legacy while bringing the Academy into the future, and the show will reflect that."
