Bunny-Inspired Elegance: Nora Tianze Lan's Collection Echoes Beuys' Art
The editorial features pieces from the latest collection by designer Nora Tianze Lan.
The inspiration behind this collection draws from Joseph Beuys' performance art piece, "How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare," in which Beuys treated a dead hare as an external organ. This deeply resonates with Nora as she relates it to her own experience with her pet bunnies. The personal connection to rabbits and the emotions associated with their passing is translated into Nora's collection, characterized by a colour palette of black, white, and grey, which sets a sombre and melancholic tone.
The bunny-inspired looks emphasize dramatic shapes derived from the bunny motif. The editorial also incorporates hairy bunny props, giant bunny ear-shaped sculptures, and even rabbit holes, symbolizing the presence of the bunnies in Nora's designs.
