H&M x Mugler: H&M's Latest Collaboration Bringing Back the Charm

The annual collaborations of H&M, which has become increasingly assertive with its striking works with high fashion design houses including Simone Rocha, Giambattista Valli and Maison Margiela, is a candidate to be one of the most talked about events of the year. While it has been exciting about who will be this year's partner in H&M collaborations, the Swedish clothing brand is announced that they agreed to work with the daring French fashion house Mugler.

Founded in 1974 by the legendary French fashion designer Thierry Mugler, Mugler managed to become one of the strongest names in its field with its success in the high fashion scene in the 80s and early 90s. For most of us, a Mugler design means bold silhouettes that allow us to distinguish it from the others easily. While Thierry Mugler passed away in January, leaving a great legacy in the fashion world, his groundbreaking looks throughout his career were preferred by the most influential people, from Beyoncé to Rihanna, from David Bowie to Diana Ross. Since 2017, Casey Cadwallader, who successfully reflects the groundbreaking tradition of the French fashion house to collections and catwalk shows, has kept Mugler's dynamic spirit alive by continuing her art direction.

"The Mugler H&M collection, crafted under the direction of Mugler's Creative Director Casey Cadwallader, will encapsulate Mugler's unique and vibrant spirit."

When will the H&M X Mugler collaboration drop?

As H&M announced, under the direction of Mugler's creative director Casey Cadwallader, the collection is set to drop in spring 2023.

How do I shop the H&M X Mugler collection?

The H&M X Mugler collection will be available online at hm.com and in selected H&M stores.

What will the H&M X Mugler collection be like?

We know we'll see the sharp-corsetry element for this collection from Mugler, who has historically praised surreal designs and glorified flair. Besides, under Cadwallader's Creative Direction, it would not be surprising to see exaggerated and striking elements such as bodycon, leggings, or mesh and cut-out catsuits often associated with many style pioneers like Dua Lipa, Chloë Sevigny and Kylie Jenner. Thus, the collection we foresee will apply the bold look of transparent and tight-fitting pieces since all those elements are the hallmarks of the Cadwallader era's Mugler. In every way, we are sure of one thing the H&M X Mugler collaboration makes a solid entrance to the 2023 spring season with this high fashion-high Street crossover.
