The Chanel Beauty House Takes Up Residence in Passy
It is in the heart of the 16th arrondissement of Paris that the new Maison de Beauté Chanel Passy has opened. Meeting with Hélène Bourhis-Bois, fasciatherapy specialist, and Valérie Michel Binotto, head of treatment protocols.
"Through its architecture, this house expresses the French spirit of Chanel, its unique taste, with a desire to be part of a vocabulary of decorative arts," explains Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, CEO of Ressources Créatives Parfums Beauté, in a press release. As soon as you open the door, you discover this pure luxury universe in white and black with touches of gold and a signature double C. The XXL reproduction of the Chanel makeup palette case attracts covetousness. The upside-down No. 5 bottle that comes out of the ceiling stands out like a work of art. "This bias is consistent with Chanel's vision of beauty, it speaks of a free order, of a very French sense of dialogue between objects. And then, it always seemed to me that our beauty products were designed as architectural rather than decorative elements. It was therefore tempting to ask them to integrate the architecture of the place in a more visible way," continues Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur.
The elevator, all dressed in gold, is breathtaking. Upstairs, you will find all the brand's essences in the style of an olfactory library. The cherry on the cake is the treatment cabins combining cryotherapy , radiofrequency or micro-currents, with particular attention to those on the 3rd and last floor where there are two facial and body treatment salons, exclusively offering Le Grand Soin and L'Allure de Chanel and which integrate the Fascia de Chanel.
Chanel Fascia treatments
Gabrielle Chanel said, "We talk about physical care, but where is the moral care? Beauty care must begin with the heart and soul." It is from this blank page that Fascia de Chanel was born. As Valérie Michel Binotto explains, "We were pioneers in targeting the fascia in our treatments. We have imagined treatments that take into account the woman in her entirety, and these express our singularity in this area. Each of our treatments combines the Chanel massage: a combination of massage techniques with a truly targeted action that acts on all the muscles to reshape and resculpt. Fascia de Chanel is a eulogy to slowness and depth, specific to letting go, disconnecting and reconnecting. Mastered for the first time by fascialists, they are a body-mind approach that evokes the profound relationship between your physical and psychological well-being."
It is this global dimension that motivated Professor Hélène Bourhis-Bois to collaborate with Chanel in order to research an innovative manual technique. As she explains, "Fasciatherapy is originally a treatment that is practiced in the medical field by physiotherapists. I am a university professor and I conduct research on the effects of touch, not only on physical pain, but on the psychological dimension. I think that beauticians can address an anatomical body that is also a living body and therefore sensitive. Fascia are layers of tissue that envelop all the structures of the body, the skin, the muscles, the organs and even the inside of the brain. And working on them produces a global, physical and sensory effect. Very reactive to internal stress and external stress, fascia will have repercussions on circulation or sleep, to name a few. And since fascia are extremely adaptive tissues, the training that fascialists receive is mainly focused on touch and the ability, not only to make a technical gesture, but to feel the effects of this gesture and to adapt it according to the effects it triggers. This unique touch restores a feeling of stability and inner harmony that is reflected on the outside."
