Pharrell Williams takes on the Parisian Pont Neuf for his Louis Vuitton debut
A new era for the luxury house Louis Vuitton has begun. Rapper, singer, producer and now creative director Pharrell Williams has had the fashion world anxiously awaiting his debut. L'Officiel Austria now shows the most breathtaking looks of the show.
Paris , June 20, 2023 - Under the artistic direction of Pharrell Williams, the LOUIS VUITTON Spring/Summer 2024 men's collection was presented. With expectations set particularly high for his first fashion debut, Williams didn't hold back in presenting the show. For this, the 50-year-old superstar transformed the Paris bridge into a breathtaking catwalk filled with international stars. In addition, the show was accompanied by an orchestra and a gospel choir - the fashion show was simply a very special kind of performance. Opinions are unanimous, however: Pharrell Williams, as creative director, impressed fashion fans and exceeded expectations.
Pixelated patterns
Taking the well-known Damier check motif as a starting point, Pharrell Williams transformed the pattern into a playful, pixelated design. You can see the design on denim, in camouflage - also known as "Damouflage" - as well as a pixelated image of the Pont Neuf. A successful modification of the popular Louis Vuitton motif with a touch of Williams inspiration.
Casual skirts
Pharrell Williams' love of cross-gender fashion has always been on the agenda. This vision can now also be seen at the LV Show. A men's collection with casual skirts could not be missing from his fashion debut.
For the SS24 men's collection, Pharrell Williams is also bringing back the Speedy bag. Bigger, better and especially more colorful this time.
Colorful Damier motifs adorn both outfits and accessories
Another eye-catcher on the catwalk was an imitation of the Louis Vuitton shopping bag, which many fans use as a fashion statement. This time, Williams created them as true accessories to wear.
A denim two-piece suit as well as a collarless and tailored suit matching the Parisian chic style with LV logos and pearl accents also dominated the catwalk.
Stars at the LV Show
Apart from the breathtaking catwalk and an unforgettable performance, several stars were seen on the front row of the Louis Vuitton show. From Jay-Z and Beyoncé , French rapper/singer Maitre Gims, Kim Kardashian , ASAP Rocky and Rihanna and fashion lover Lewis Hamilton - Pharrell Williams has had the support of the world's megastars.
To celebrate the day, there was an exclusive performance by Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z himself.
