The 90's Inspiration is Everywhere
With the great breaking away from the riots of colours, huge hair, shoulder pads and overly exaggerated looks that dominated the 80s, 1990s fashion achieved a minimalist balance while keeping the sparkle of the period that we wear with pleasure even in the millennium age.
1990s fashion evolved throughout the decades by relieving the effects of the dominant fashion trend before it with the shift from grunge to minimalism. In the early 90s, still, under the influence of the 80s, high fashion with surreal styles had a big breakthrough; pieces such as bright colours and athletic wear continued to be preferred for a while. Although the "grunge" style managed to make a place for itself in mainstream fashion, especially in the early 90s, we can say that the manner of the period took its final shape towards the mid-90s, especially with references to femininity and minimalism. Thus, in addition to clothes that emphasized sophistication, such as slip dresses, the less glamorous and much more comfortable clothes "from the street" began to dominate fashion. Scrunchies, overalls, baby tees, thick headbands, acid-wash jeans, combat boots, claw clips, tube tops, slip dresses and capri pants are only a few of the clothing items we can quickly identify with the spirit of the period.
Of course, by including this easy-to-combine but still very stylish pieces in our wardrobes as essentials, many of us may be carrying 90s references in our style many times, whether we realize it or not. But, to get away from an outdated look, we can include certain pieces from the 90s that have become "essentials" of the closets until today.
